Welcome to Saint Johns Tennis Academy at Mills Field! Tennis Pro's/Coaches for Swiss Point and Liberty Pines are Patrick & Heather Diegan
We will hold the upcoming middle school tennis tryouts at Mills Field for Swiss Point Middle School & Liberty Pines Middle School on the following days and times:
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24TH 3:00PM - 4:30PM
AND
FRIDAY, JANUARY 26TH 4:00PM - 5:30PM
Swiss Point and Liberty Pines students may come either day during the stated times above and only need to tryout once. Each school may have multiple teams chosen depending on how many tryout. Please attend whether you are beginner or experienced!
Mandatory Practices to play in matches will begin the week of February 6th for both schools. We will have two practices per week the first two weeks then once a week each week after.
Swiss Point Middle School practices will be Tuesdays/Thursdays 3-4pm the first two weeks, Tuesdays 3-4pm each week and matches played on Thursdays each week.
Liberty Pines Middle School practices will be Wednesdays 3-4pm and Fridays 5-6pm the first two weeks, then each Wednesday 3-4pm practices and matches played on Thursdays each week.

December 27th - 29th our Academy will be having our annual Christmas Tennis Camp 9-12 pm for 3 days which will include a tournament and pizza party with ornament exchange on the 29th. A weekend for Mali Vai Washington Foundation fundraiser. Our student Allie Bielski represented us at the Gala which brought in a record $310,000.00 of donations. Followed by the Pro Am tournament at San Jose Golf and CC.

All clinics and match play will resume Monday, September 18th at Mills Field. This includes all our programming Ladies FCTA tennis, all juniors and 10& Under programming. Our Junior Team Tennis team match play will begin Friday, September 22nd at 4:30. I will send out emails for match schedules pertaining to USTA JTT.
Team SJTA Ace Breakers competed in sectionals championship this weekend in Orlando at Red Bug Park. What a fantastic group of kids who played three days of tennis 25 matches.
We have two more weeks to go! If you want to sign up for more classes or join we still have room. Registering now for Fall tennis classes starting back Wednesday, August 16th.
Tennis Tryouts for both Swiss Point and Liberty Pines will take place the following:
Monday, February 6th & Tuesday, February 7th
2:45pm - 4:45pm at Mills Field Tennis Courts (1805 Race Track Road, St. Johns 32259)
Students from either school may come to Mills Field during these dates and times to tryout for their school tennis team. Middle School season will begin the week of February 20th - May 5th, 2017.
Tennis tryouts will last for at least 30 - 40 minutes while being evaluated. Students selected for their schools team will receive notice of results the following Friday. You must register online at SJMSAA website as directed from your school in order to tryout and participate on your schools tennis team.
Practices for Swiss Point will be Tuesdays 2:45-3:45pm
Practices for Liberty Pines will be Wednesdays 2:45 - 3:45pm
Match play days will be every Thursday (times vary according to venue played)
This camp is for Academy players intermediate- advanced only. We primarily have high school players. Come Jan 2-4 for a great workout, footwork, strategy and our annual ornament exchange party with pizza!
Monday - Wednesday 9-12 each day. $85.00
Come work off all that turkey and casserole you will be eating on Thanksgiving!
We are offering a Thanksgiving Tennis Camp for all our Teen & Academy tennis players for these following dates & times:
Monday, November 21st 5-8PM (Singles Drills & Strategy)
Tuesday, November 22nd 5-8PM (Doubles Drills & Strategy)
Wednesday, November 23rd 10AM - 1PM (Tournament Play & Pizza Party & Awards)
This camp includes 9 hours of tennis instruction/play, round robin challenge, prizes and pizza party on Wednesday. Tennis Camp cost is $85.00
We are reserving a maximum 16 students to attend this camp.

Saint Johns Tennis Academy entered 8 teams into this weekends USTA Team Tennis Challenge weekend located at Boone Park. We had 4 teams entered in the U14 intermediate and 4 teams entered into the U18 intermediate. I am so very proud of each and every team with high efforts to play their very best tennis and displayed great sportsmanship in every match! I received several compliments from various parents and teams and pros from our local communities.
We had 2 teams come in 1st and 2nd place in our U18 intermediate flight - Team 904 won first place with players Landon Williams, Molly Wannamaker & Lily Thompson. We had 2 teams of ours in the playoffs of U14 intermediate "Team Highlighters" and "Team Uno". Team Uno won 1st place with players Allie Bielski, Carys Cook & Lily Davis.
We had a blast last night with all our students to celebrate Halloween tennis style. We had three contest winners for ; "Wackiest tennis shot"- Sam W., "Best Tweener shot"- Gabe S. , and "Best target serve"- Lily D.. We also had a dog fight in which our winner was Grace W. Pizza, drinks, awards and candy was enjoyed by all. Coaches Patrick Diegan and Heather Lester thank you for coming out to play in our 4th annual Halloween celebration!

We want to announce an excellent opportunity for all our students to form their own team for a local USTA Junior Team Tennis event late October. We want as many teams as possible to go and compete then have the opportunity to travel with their team to Orlando to compete regionally.
I specifically want one or two high school teams made. This will be great practice before January tryouts.
